There is no street lighting inside Kamikochi Park, and it is difficult to walk after sunset.
Therefore, please also plan to arrive at the hotel and check in by 16:00.

A resort hotel that opened as a hot spring inn in the early 1900s. We are proud of the free-flowing hot spring, traditional French cuisine, and guest rooms with a panoramic view of Azusa River and the mountains. This is the hotel where Walter Weston, the father of Japanese mountain climbing and author of the Climbers' Book that introduced the Japanese Alps to the world, also stayed.
The hotel is a little far from the sightseeing spots, but it is situated in a quiet place where you can experience a quiet resort mood.

A full course menu of traditional French cuisine, made with bold ideas, delicate taste, and even more ingenuity,
offering tastes suitable for a resort called Kamikochi.
Kamikochi French cuisine is cooked in an open kitchen where you can enjoy the five senses: vision, hearing, smell, touch and taste.
Shinshu wines carefully selected by our exclusive sommelier and wines from all over the world add color to our dishes.
For the second night, we will serve "French Japone" course that combines French with Japanese cuisine, so you won't get bored.
We also offer Shinshu wines carefully selected by our restaurant sommelier, delicious wines from all over the world, and a wide variety of local sake.
There are also a variety of "glass wine set" and "Shinshu local set" with a set of three glasses, as well as non-alcoholic and soft drinks.

From Matsumoto to Kamikochi
30 minutes by train from JR Matsumoto Station to Shinshimashima Station.
The train (Alpico Transport Kamikochi Line) departs from Platform 7.
After getting off at Shinshimashima Station, you need to transfer to a bus bound for Kamikochi, and then it will take another hour to get to Kamikochi.

Those who come by train or bus
For private cars (including rent-a-car and motorcycles), you cannot pass through Kama Tunnel, so use a shuttle bus or taxi from the following parking lots.

Access from the nearest bus stop to the hotel

The nearest bus stop and taxi stand is the Teikoku Hotel-mae bus stop. (Approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop via the promenade)
The roads are paved so you can also carry bags with wheels, but we recommend that you send them to the hotel by courier etc. in advance.
At the hotel, we will store your luggage at the front desk for free until you arrive.
About pick-up and taxi use
The hotel is located on a promenade in Kamikochi, and we have been instructed by the Ministry of the Environment to "reduce the number of vehicles passing through the park" as much as possible, so we refrain from picking up guests and transporting their baggage.
Taxis are allowed up to the front entrance of our hotel only during times when there are fewer pedestrians, which would be until 09:00 a.m. and after 3:00 p.m., when the guest is a person with disability, or when the bad weather makes it difficult to walk.
